About Me

Hi, I’m Claire Economou (née Linsdell).  I am 36 years old and have been teaching pole since 2003 purely for fitness reasons.  I set up Claire’s Pole Fitness in November 2008 and have gone from strength to strength since.

I attended dance classes as a child which included:  ballet, tap and modern.  I also learned gymnastics which I loved!  Pole fitness and gymnastics are very similar, this is why I love pole so much.

My passion for pole began when I attended lessons at a dance school.  At this point I realised pole fitness was meant for me!  I bought myself a pole to practice my moves at home – to perfection.  At first I began by teaching a few friends at home, before I started teaching their friends.  I then thought to myself, this is what I should be doing!  A job I love!  A year later Claire’s Pole Fitness was created!  Now I teach my own pole fitness classes, private lessons, pole dancing parties and much more!

I have entered competitions against some of the best pole dancers in the country including Sally-Ann Giles and Annie Norris and came 4th in the professional category.  I have done many nightclub performances, promotional evenings, shows, charity events, birthday party performances, car shows and wedding performances and I’m still adding more to my list as time goes by!  For updates on what I have done over the years and all upcoming events, check out my Facebook page.

I love to share my passion for pole with newbies, I get great satisfaction seeing everyone achieving goals they never knew were possible!

I have been a judge at The Essex Pole Competition 2011 for Pole 2 Pole magazine.  I have also been to Cyprus to watch the Gala Pole Show in Limassol where we met and trained with some of the best pole athletes in the world including Magnus Labbe, Olga Koda and Olga Trifinova.

Claire’s Pole Fitness has also been publicly voted TOP UK POLE SCHOOL with votes via Platinum Stages in 2012, this makes so me proud!  Thank you to everyone who voted we couldn’t have done it without your support!

In Summer 2015 at Dartford Festival our stand won Best Commercial Module.  Here we are being presented our trophy by the Mayor of Dartford, Ian Armitt, in his chambers on 7th September.  Myself and my team were over the moon with winning this award!

One of my best life achievements so far has been becoming a Mum!  On 21st March 2017 at 8.47am I had a baby girl by emergency c-section weighing 6lb 11oz.  My husband Harry and I named her Sophia. This was a big challenge for my body but after a year of gradual hard work I am finally back to my pre baby strength.  If I can do it, so can you. Don’t let becoming a mum stop you coming to my classes.
